Meet the Artist
Katie Forward is a contemporary abstract artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Media Studies at the University of Virginia in 2021. Much of her art practice is composed of creating process-based abstract paintings that encapsulate different fleeting feelings. She uses the beauty of nature, flowers, and wildlife to inspire her vibrant, whimsical paintings. Materiality and the interaction between the behavior of the paint, other materials, and surface are important in the work.
